Photography Club

Club Description

Photography Club is a creative, hands-on space for students who want to continue developing their photography skills while having more freedom to explore, experiment, and create. Rather than following a traditional classroom format, students will learn through photography challenges, photo walks, themed projects, group discussions, and creative assignments.

Students will continue strengthening their understanding of composition, lighting, perspective, and visual storytelling while developing their own photographic style. The club also provides opportunities to share work, learn from one another, and build confidence behind the camera.

Photography Club is especially suited for students with some previous photography experience who are ready to keep shooting, creating, and growing.

Club Expectations

Students should:

• Bring a camera or photography-capable device to each meeting.
• Come ready to participate in photo walks, challenges, projects, and discussions.
• Handle cameras and equipment responsibly.
• Respect other students, their work, and their creative ideas.
• Be willing to experiment with new techniques and accept constructive feedback.
• Complete occasional photography challenges outside of club when assigned.
• Follow all Veritas expectations during on-site and off-site photography activities.

What Students Will Explore

Throughout the year, students may work on composition, lighting, portraits, nature photography, action shots, perspective, storytelling through images, themed photo challenges, and special creative projects. The emphasis is on practice and creativity rather than grades or traditional coursework.

The goal: Give students a fun photography community where they can sharpen their skills, develop their creative eye, and enjoy making great photographs.
